I legit have OCD. In the last 6 months I've finally gotten a relatively good hold on mitigating it following 5 years of debilitating nearly continuous loops. I don't know how yours manifests but you have my empathy.
Wow! Prog metal! You must be talented; what instrument(s) do you play? The only progressive music I know is Coheed and Cambria. Right on with being an engineer. Would my life unfolded differently, I would have been one as well, as it was a path I very nearly started down after high school. Instead I went for geology, which I now have thoughts about. What kind of things do you code?
I play acoustic guitar at a modest skill level as I've never felt pressure to polish my skill because it's a cathartic outlet for me to express my thoughts as song. Once I get it out of me, the impetus to play is released so I haven't gotten very consistent. I really enjoy playing though :D As far as arduino goes, I'm currently working on making a remote control car, though it's slow going because it's all hardware I've never had to interface with before even though it's super low level common stuff. I'm having a lot of fun with it! I'm also working on a pair of photo sensative cyberpunk goggles, but that's more of long term project due to me currently lacking certain aesthetic components and needing to hone my soldering skill for effectively working with my tiny strip LEDs. Eventually I'd like to make a light cube, but that a project for another time. I also have an EPROM I wanna try reading but I need someone to explain to me how to calculate the resister and specific model of transistor I need to amplify the current to specify amount. Online resources I've found are too obtuse for me
